Over the past year, Biomethaverse has reached a significant milestone in the development of its electromethanogenesis pilot, with the successful completion of the site preparation phase. This crucial step was carried out in close collaboration with project partners, ENGIE BioZ (host site), and safety teams, and has been officially validated by the relevant authorities.

At the end of spring 2025, the pilot was installed on site, marking the beginning of a new technical phase: commissioning. Throughout the summer, teams focused on conducting the necessary pre-startup tests, including leak checks, automation system trials, and rigorous safety inspections. These procedures—essential to ensuring the reliability and safety of the installation—are now complete. The pilot is scheduled to start in the coming weeks, paving the way for a one-year testing campaign.
This marks a transition into the operational phase of the project, with promising prospects for innovation and sustainability. We extend our sincere thanks to all stakeholders for their commitment and exemplary collaboration.
Stay tuned for our next newsletter, where we’ll share the first results of the testing campaign!
