On 5–6 November 2026, BIOMETHAVERSE will be represented at “Volta e il gas invisibile: il metano tra scienza e società” (Volta and the Invisible Gas: Methane between Science and Society), a two-day conference organised by the Istituto Lombardo Accademia di Scienze e Lettere in Milan, Italy.

The event (held in Italian) will bring together researchers, policymakers and industry representatives to explore methane from multiple perspectives, including its scientific origins, environmental impacts, industrial applications and role in the energy transition.

Alessandro Agostini (ENEA), a BIOMETHAVERSE project partner, will contribute to the session “Biomethane and Bioenergy” on Friday, 6 November, starting at 14:30, with a presentation entitled “BIOMETHAVERSE: innovazioni nell’universo del biometano” (BIOMETHAVERSE: Innovations in the Biomethane Universe).

Organised in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE), the session will bring together representatives from the European Commission (DG ENER), the European Biogas Association (another BIOMETHAVERSE partner), research organisations and industry to discuss biomethane policies, technological innovation and opportunities for decarbonisation.

Alessandro’s contribution will offer an opportunity to showcase the BIOMETHAVERSE project and its work on innovative biomethane production technologies within a wider discussion on the sector’s future in Europe.
